My Pool has gone green! What do I do?

Firstly...Don't panic!

If you run the pump/filtration system regularly:

• Check if the chlorinator is working. Refer to the instruction manual of the chlorinator you are using for any test procedures to determine if the unit is functioning properly.  Generally, cleaning the cell as per the instructions that came with the unit will solve a lot of problems involviong the cell.
  
• Check the chemical balance of your pool water with your test kit. Refer to your kit's instruction manual for its proper usage and acceptable readings. If the readings are not within the limits specified in your test kit instructions, take a sample of water to your favourite pool shop and ask them for an analysis and recommendations.

If you don't run your filter/pump system regularly:

• Run your filter/pump system regularly.  Generally about four hours (more with heavy use) per day in summer will be sufficient.
